Assign.#2 MacMAME!

The game i decided to play and stood out the most to me was 1941 counter strike (world).. there is a japan version but i think they are both the same game. for some reason the game was at very fast past so you needed quick reflexes. considering it was fast past i didn't get too far..lol. The primary/ preiconographic aspect of this game, just so everyone has an genral idea of the game for those who aren't familiar is that the plane moves from left to right of the screen dodging other planes. it also go up and down, so pretty much everywhere on the narrow screen that is giving. explosions happen everywhere so you have to keep track on what is coming after you etc... clouds are going down through the screen with the background area, which would be the ground or water.. different terrains of all sorts. there is alot going on in tis game and to me it looks very fast pace.. now i dont know if it is suppsoe to be like that but it was fast pace. there are also other allied planes that fly higher than you, which would be closer to you. planes are coming from left to right, all over the place.
The secondary/ iconographic analysis, is that you use the up, down, left and right arrow keys to move your plane and the space bar acts as a power up or power boost where you have planes next to you also shooting, whic hthe shooting button is the shift key. you have to press it continuously to keep firing.. there are planes theat try to attack you and you eventually come to a massive plane that has projectiles get shot at you and you have to avoid them.. "the boos" or big plane is huge.. it pretty mch covers a third of the narrow screen and when the big ship or plane like objet blinks thatm eans you hit it and you have to hit it in the middle. it tries to corner you and destruct you, so basically when i played it only moves side to side rarely and comes toward you to try nd finsh you off. you have to go throughout the terrain it gives you shooting down enemy fighter planes and you get points for every plane you hit.. good luck!
the intrinsic side of this game is that i beleive it is a very addicting game. it makes you want to continue on and on and so forth. i beleive this game had great graphics at the time it was made which attracted many people to buy and play this game. i beleive counter attack stick has good graphics and at the time im sure they were top notch. the affects it has had on our culture i beleive affected us greatly and made a drastic change in the gaming industry and to stide forward for much better games.

Hwk. #1

after doing the readings, the histroy of gaming was interesting and i found out alot of new facts. A lot i didn't know becasue it wasn't in my era and other game consoles i recgonized. the atari, nintendo and of course the xbox and Ps2&3. I find it interesting how technolgy has come a long way through the years. the microvision that was created in the 60s and 70s was the first boost to create more handhelds and home computers, which the home computers were well known in the 70s and 80s( more in the 80s).the second article talked about hackers and how they would change the title around and make their own video game, whcih was a problem and a struggle for the industry. it also talked about how MUD ( Multi. user dungeons), based off dungeons and dragons. hacking would attract more users and it became popular. they then talked about how hacking should be available to the users becasue they would make a much better and useful game to their liking.

first day

the first day was cool, knowing what we are going to to be doing this semester and it seems pretty interesting to me. im excited to learn about video games and how they develope through the years.
